Finland: data regarding average calving interval

In Finland the calving interval of dairy cows and number of inseminations needed for a calving are developing into a good direction. Last year the average calving interval was 407 days. This was four days shorter than in 2017, and 11 days shorter than the highest interval during the years 2012-2013 when it was 418 days. Last year Finnish milk recorded cows needed on average 1.9 insemination for one calving. Also this number has decreased from 1.93 in 2017 and from 2.01 during the years 2012-2013.
