Germany: Arla opened new milk powder plant

In the German Pronsfeld, in the state Rheinland-Pfalz, the Denmark headquartered dairy cooperative Arla has opened a new milk powder plant with a capacity of processing 685 million kilogram milk into 90000 tons milk powder. The investment in the new plant was 190 million euro. Pronsfeld is Arla’s worldwide biggest site of 55 hectare and almost 1000 employees. Last year, about 1.5 billion (10*9) kilograms of milk were processed into long-life dairy products such as drinking milk, cream, mixed milk drinks, condensed milk, sour cream, milk powder and butter.
