In Ireland, a study done by Teagasc which is providing research, advisory and education in agriculture shows that with twice a day milking the time between two milking times does not necessary have influence on the milk yield. In the study a milking interval of 12 : 12 and a milking interval of 16 : 8 hours were compared. This showed that the milk volume and the percentage of fat and protein were not affected by the difference in milking interval.
