The Netherlands: report on cows suffering on pneumonia

The Dutch animal health service GD reports that in recent years dairy cows more often suffer on heavy pneumonia caused by the bacteria Mannheimia haemolytica. The bacteria is present in the nose of almost all cows. Stress seems to be an important trigger of the disease. The disease can within hours suddenly spring up and kill several cows in a heard in a few days.
