In Holland, the dairy cooperative Royal FrieslandCampina intends to close its facility in Rijkevoort in the Netherlands on October 1st 2020. As a result all 86 jobs will be redundant. The production facility in Rijkevoort produces, among other things, foil-ripened cheese. The decision to definitely close the Rijkevoort site was taken because of the current production capacity of FrieslandCampina Dairy Essentials in relation to new insights into future milk volume developments. Moreover, cost considerations play an important role. As a result of the closure, no new jobs will be created at other sites of FrieslandCampina.
