In Belgium, the northern part Flanders, with the most dairy cattle, had in 2020 a number of 650 tied barns for 21000 dairy cows. This was 16.6 percent of the total number of dairy barns and 6.5 percent of the Flemish dairy cows. In 2016 this was 940 tied barns with 30000 dairy cows 22 percent of the barns and 10.3 percent of the cows.
