The Danish Council on Climate Change has proposed to put a tax of two Danish crown (26 eurocent) per litre on the consumers price of milk, 20 crown (2.60 euro) per kilogram on the consumers price of cheese and 26 crown (3.38 euro) per kilogram on the consumers price of beef. This with the aim to decrease consumption to lower the exhaust of green gases of Danish dairy and beef farming and industry.
