Finland: dairy – COVID-19 development

In Finland, the producer price of milk has remained stable during and after COVID-19. The price level will remain slightly above last year’s price level. The amount of dairy products consumed by the restaurant and catering sectors has been clearly lower than normal in the spring. However, the growth in demand for consumer packaged dairy products has supported the dairy sector. Exports of milk powder have increased. The export of milk powder has focused on the export of value-added powder. Therefore, the average price of exported milk powder has risen significantly. Exports of cheese and butter, on the other hand, have fallen sharply.
