Great Britain: ammonia permitting rules for farmers

In the United Kingdom currently 87 percent of ammonia emissions come from agriculture, 23 percent of which are from the dairy industry. As part of the Clean Air Strategy the government is planning to extend environmental permitting to dairy farms and has announced grants to help farmers prepare for ammonia permitting rules. Among others there have been announced subsidy for low ammonia emissions floorings and automatic slurry scrapers and covers for slurry and digestate stores.
