In Ireland in 2021 milk processors took in a volume of 8754 million litres milk from Irish dairy farms. This was 5.5 percent more than in 2020. The milk had average 4.23 percent fat (2020: 4.20) and 3.55 percent protein (2020 same). Of the processed milk 507.7 million litres were sold as drink milk. This was 3.3 percent less than in 2020. Butter production increased 3.9 percent to 275100 tonnes. Production of skimmed milk powder increased 5.0 percent to 147600 tonnes.( Source: Irish Central Statistics Office)
