Norway: Tine takes full review of current facility structure

In Norway, falling milk consumption, significant imports of dairy products and subsidies of almost 20 million euro a year to competitors mean that the biggest Norwegian dairy cooperative Tine has to take drastic measures and initiate a full review of the current facility structure. The use of different plants will be restructured, 20 employees will lose their jobs. Tine is owned by almost 9000 dairy farmers. The cooperative has approximately 3900 employees at 34 facilities in Norway.
