Sweden: Swedish Consumer Ombudsman analyses Arla’s advertisements

In Sweden, the Denmark headquartered dairy cooperative Arla advertises that the climate impacts of the company’s EKO brand milk are zero because the company has purchased emission compensation. According to the Swedish Consumer Ombudsman, the marketing gives a false impression of milk’s climate effects. The consumer ombudsman has sued Arla to the market court, whose task is to find out whether Arla’s advertisements are sufficiently clear and whether the claims are true.
