Finland: methane emissions have decreased

In Finland between 1960 and 2020 methane emissions caused by dairy cows has decreased by more than 57 percent a recent study shows. Methane emissions per litre of milk have fallen by about 35 percent in the same period. The decrease is explained by the decrease in the number of cows, but also by the improved yields of the cows, better management and quality of feeding. According to researchers, methane emissions can be reduced by up to 30 to 40 percent over the next 15 years.
