In Finland in 2019 the geometric mean of somatic cell counts for milk was 129 200 cells per millilitre and bacterial count was 5 900 colony forming units (cfu) per millitre (2018: 5500 cfu / ml). The best quality E class accounted for 97.3 percent of the milk (2018: 96.8 %). In 0.5 percent of the milk samples antimicrobial residues were found.
