In Ireland in 2023 in cattle (not only dairy) almost 29000 tuberculosis test reactions were detected which was 5500 more than in 2022. A number of 5000 herds were locked up because of a detection 4500 more than in 2022. Ultimo 2023 the herd incidence rate was 4.89 percent, compared to 4.31 percent in 2022. In 2023 the total costs the government paid for the TB eradication program were 74.3 million euro, 29 percent more than in 2022.
