In Northern Ireland from 1990 till 2019 the total milk production has increased 81 percent but the number of cows increased only 13 percent. In the same period the CO2 emission of milk production decreased from 1.927 kilogram CO2 equivalent per kilogram milk production in 1990 to 1240 kilogram CO2 equivalent per kilogram milk in 2019.
